I want to apply for a Doctoral Scholarship but have not yet received my permanent residency. I expect to receive it soon. Am I eligible to apply?

You must be an Australian citizen or have permanent residency and have resided in Victoria
for three years to be eligible to apply for the Doctoral Scholarship. As you have not yet
received your permanent residency, nor fulfilled the other requirements, you are not eligible
to apply.

I work in Victoria, am an Australian citizen but reside over the border in NSW, am I eligible to apply?

You must be an Australian citizen or have permanent residency and have resided in Victoria
for three years if you wish to apply for a Doctoral Scholarship. As you do not live in Victoria,
you are not eligible to apply.

I am from New Zealand, do not have Australian Citizenship nor permanent residency, though am living in Victoria and have been for the last three years. Am I eligible to apply for the Doctoral Scholarship?

You must be an Australian citizen or have permanent residency and have resided in Victoria
for three years if you wish to apply for a Doctoral Scholarship. You are not eligible to apply.

I am from an organisation that is not able to register with AHPRA; however I hold a practising membership with my professional association. Am I able to apply for the Doctoral Scholarship?

No, you are not eligible to apply. The AHPRA registration is mandatory to be considered for
this Scholarship.

I have successfully obtained other funding. Am I still eligible to apply for a Doctoral Scholarship?

Yes, students who have successfully obtained other funding may apply for a Doctoral
Scholarship as long as they satisfy the eligibility criteria found in the Guidelines and
Application Instructions.

Is it acceptable to apply for a Doctoral Scholarship with “confirmation pending” of my Doctoral Study by the University?

No, you must already have received confirmation of your Doctoral study from the University
through a formal review process.

Can I still apply for a Doctoral Scholarship if approval is pending from the University’s Human Research Ethics Committee?

No, you cannot apply for a Doctoral Scholarship unless approval from the University’s Human
Research Ethics Committee has already been received.

I am wondering whether the monies are paid as a stipend or do they go directly to project costs, etc?

The monies can be paid either as a stipend or can go directly to project costs, etc.
